Citrix: Open Source Does Not Mean Interoperable or Compatible

An interesting exercise in spin submitted for your amusement.

This is ultimately another “let’s point out a software problem that applies to both Open and Closed Source and pretend like it only applies to Open Source” bit of misdirection.

I guess Citrix doesn’t know that All Source is “Open Source” to Someone.

Dear Jason: This is one of the consistent strategies against software freedom from the traditionally privative, proprietary software companies: First eradicate the concept of Free(dom) Software (calling names to its supporters and marginalize any institution that supports it either the FSF or Governments), and then substitute it from “Open Source”. Then redefine the meaning of “Open Source” so it fits your products and market strategy.

They do it even at a policy-making/lobbying level:

and when they cannot redefine the game, they resort to threats, you sure remember these recent events…
