Site News: Testing identi.ca


I’m testing identi.ca and blog integration.
I’m using thesourcedotcom on identi.ca, and trying the Network Publisher plugin.

Rationale

I’d like to see if announcing the blog content on a Social Networking site increases the reach of the site.

I define “reach” as number of visits / comments / emails I get.

I chose identi.ca because it is built on Open Source tools.

I chose the Network Publisher plug-in because it supports identi.ca and other social networking sites, in the case I wanted to expand in the future.

Feedback

If you are on identi.ca, please give me your impression of the system and let me know if it adds any value to the site for you.

I also welcome comments related to this test!

    WP Status.Net is a fail as well.

    Hmm. So far I haven't been able to get the Network Publisher plug in working. Everything appears correct, but nothing is appearing on the identi.ca site.

    I will have to find another plug in.

    Am now trying Twitter Tools, which will supposedly cross-post to both Twitter and Identi.ca (with an additional plug-in).
